After years of thinking about really learning how to sing, I finally sought out a voice instructor and found Nanette.

At my first lesson I was terrible and she was incredibly patient. I should add I am a 58 year old man, Im a business manager in industry, and I havent sang other than along with the car radio since high school choir. I knew nothing about resonance or breath support, or projection or enunciating consonants and vowels. But I thought it would be fun if I could, maybe someday, sing a Frank Sinatra song without embarrassing myself. Nanette did not throw me out of that first class, so I came back the next week, and the next. She selected a couple of simpler songs and she worked to teach me vocalization and pitch and how to produce resonance in my facial bones. It seemed like a lot but as I went on, I would catch on to some technique or concept and suddenly find myself on a plateau I didnt know about before - and then another one a little bit better and then I thought wow, I could actually do this..

Long and short of it is Ive been at it now more than two years and I have sung at studio classes and recitals and built confidence a little bit at a time. I feel like Ive accomplished what I set out to and Im working with her on more and more complex and interesting music. I have sung Fly Me To The Moon, All The Way, and The Way You Look Tonight in front of rooms full of people who not only didnt get up and leave but actually applauded!! Interestingly, and unexpectedly, I now speak with greater resonance and find Im able to more confidently project my voice in day to day situations.

So now Im on to learning Bobby Darins Beyond The Sea and its challenging and fun, and Nanette continues to be patient and find new things to work on every week. If at whatever age you are, you have ever thought youd like to learn to properly sing a song, or sing better, or if you just want to find your voice and increase your confidence, you could not find a more devoted and hard-working coach/teacher than Nanette Sonneman. Five stars and two thumbs up

My son took lessons from Miss Nanette for years! It was a wonderful experience and he grew so much as a pianist. Our family loved attending the recitals as well. This is a time in our lives that we treasure. We would highly recommend Sonneman Studios to those considering this experience.

If you are looking for a learning experience in both piano and voice that delivers professional technique by a teacher with over 25 years of experience, I encourage you to check out Sonneman Studio Piano & Voice.

I found Sonneman Studio Piano & Voice while looking for an instructor to help me train my voice to audition for a record label. The instructor, Nanette, went above and beyond helping me with the project.

There's no questioning the experience or musical ability -- highly recommend!
